Are you feeling stressed? Anxious? Angry? Suffering the loss of a loved one? Or maybe you have reached a stage in your life where you are having to cope with many changes. I can offer you a safe, confidential space to explore your problems and process what is going on for you, to reach a new understanding. You can be assured of being heard with empathy and without judgement.
As an integrative counsellor, I have a wide variety of theories and approaches to draw on to suit the needs of the individual client. This means that every approach is personal and tailored to your specific needs. Counselling is an opportunity for you to understand what is going on for you in your life and to explore a way forward.
I offer counselling to children, young people, adults and older adults online through Microsoft Teams or the Psychology Today Platform. I do offer counselling by telephone although I feel it is preferable to see each other on video to facilitate a trusting, comfortable relationship. I also offer counselling through home visits if within travelling distance of my home in Bishop Auckland.
If you’re thinking “Online is not for me!” I do understand it may seem a little strange. However, many people find they actually prefer online counselling because there are several advantages. For example, if the weather is bad you do not have to leave your home, there is no travelling time, if are feeling a little under the weather you may still feel that you can attend your counselling session in your home. Children and young people can also adapt well to being online. Afterall, it is very much in their comfort zone to spend time communicating with friends in that way and playing games. And teenagers don’t even have to leave their room!
